# SalamAI: Live speech translation

One speaker. Every language in the room.

SalamAI translates live speech for meetings, events and face-to-face conversations. Someone speaks, and the audience hears the translation and reads live subtitles in their own language. Everyone joins from a browser. No app to install.

Where it helps

## For any room where people do not share one language.

Built for multilingual teams, audiences and communities worldwide.

### Conferences and town halls

Translate one speaker into several live language channels for the room or a regional broadcast.

### Clinics and public counters

Use two-way translation for a patient, visitor, applicant, or citizen conversation.

### Worship and education

Provide spoken translation and readable subtitles for congregations, lectures, and campus events.

### Tours and customer support

Let visitors or customers hear the speaker in their own language on a phone or browser.

Session modes

## Choose how people join and listen.

### One-way session

One speaker is translated aloud and captioned live for everyone listening.

### Two-way conversation

Two people hold a live conversation using hands-free voice detection or push-to-talk.

### Remote Speaker

A presenter joins by temporary browser link from their own phone and becomes the session microphone.

### Companion Mode

Listeners open a link on their phones to hear translated audio and read matching subtitles.

### After the session

Keep encrypted session history and optional summaries or recordings. A text-only caption mode works with OBS streaming software.

How it works

## From one speaker to a multilingual audience.

The main console sends voice directly to the selected provider. The public demo uses a separate service to pass audio to translation providers. Read its data-use notice before starting.

- 01 Choose the source Microphone, mixer, browser tab, app audio, or a remote speaker.
- 02 Choose languages Select the output languages, volume, and audio device.
- 03 Start speaking Subtitles appear first and spoken translation follows.
- 04 Share when needed Open Companion Mode so the audience can listen on their phones.

Security and honest limits

## Security, costs and translation limits.

- Use two-step sign-in and invite-only teams. Database rules separate each organisation's data. Audit logs help reveal changes to records.
- The browser encrypts transcripts and optional recordings before upload. It also decrypts them locally for search and playback.
- Provider access credentials expire after a short period and are limited to one purpose. Remote Speaker access is temporary and can be used once.
- Companion Mode currently supports one-way sessions and has roughly 6 to 20 seconds of delivery delay.
- Translation is billed per active output language. Each selected output language is billed separately; review the product pricing and agreed plan before a live session.

Before you decide

## Questions about live translation

Answers about uses, testing, setup and cost.

### Can an audience hear translated speech as well as read captions?

Yes. SalamAI provides spoken translation and live subtitles, also called captions. One to Many is for a speaker and audience. One to One is for two-way conversations. In Companion Mode, listeners open a language-specific link on their phones. No app is needed.

### How is live translation priced?

SalamAI charges depend on translation time and the output languages in use. Each active output language is billed separately at your agreed rate. Tell us the session length and languages you need. Confirm the rate and expected usage before your event.

### Can we try SalamAI, and when should a person review the translation?

You can try SalamAI with your microphone on its product website. Test the language, accent and room audio you expect to use. Do not share private information. AI can translate incorrectly, so a qualified person should check medical, legal, safety and other important statements.

### Does SalamAI support Malay, Arabic and other languages?

SalamAI lists 13 curated spoken languages and broader engine coverage of 70+ languages. Malay and Arabic appear in the broader catalogue. Available speech, subtitle and voice options can differ. Check the current language list and test the exact language, accent and output before an event.
